Looking down the drain

A real Fenland landscape, sunny, windswept, a big, big sky and dominating the picture the Middle Level Drain complete with a fringe of Norfolk Reed and water lilies.
In a way this really is the essence of the West Norfolk fenland, empty with very few people and if you enjoy fishing in solitude, being on your own and away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life this is the place to be because in all probability you wouldn't see another person all day.
You may well hear the RAF and Uncle Sam's finest boys and girls ripping up the sky occasionally but that would be it, and when all that aerial din and noise dies away you're left with the sound of the wind, the reeds and hopefully a fish or two splashing towards the landing net.
