Brilliant Brown Turkey

An exciting moment to report, the first picking of the fruit growing on our Brown Turkey Fig Tree. Fantastic.
I repotted the tree last year moving it from a large, but not large enough pot, to an old corrugated water butt and the plant obviously loves its new home because it is covered in maturing fruit.
As long the warm weather remains we should be picking the luscious fruit until the end of September and no there's no doubt that the top dressing of well-rotted farmyard manure in the spring has helped the formation and quantity of the fruit too.
Next year, well the same again will do nicely thank you, and maybe we should plant a second different variety.
